We Found a Home!
“Good things come to those who wait” really reigns true for us on this one.
We signed a lease for our restaurant in Montclair NJ!
Over the next several months as we fit-out our space, I will be posting on this blog to share some of our entrepreneurship adventures.
We had been looking for space to lease for nearly two years, which gave us time to fully flush out our concept and brand. Now we are bringing our dreams into reality!

The first couple of items on our ever growing “to-do” list (in addition to getting rid of those red walls!) include:
Working with our kitchen designer to maximize efficiency and flow within our 1400 sq.ft. space.
Continuing to refine the floor plan with our architect; picking out finishes for the walls, tables, chairs, lighting and storage.
Collaborating with a woodworker to help us design the focal point of our brand – a large (horse-shoe shaped) communal table that looks into the open kitchen.
Designing a multi-screen video wall to feature food photography, artists, social media posts, etc.
In addition to those early construction items, we have been fine-tuning our menus, interviewing candidates for our management team, and redeveloping our website to make it easier to navigate.

One of this week’s adventures:
Shoveling the sidewalk after the biggest (and hopefully last) snow storm of the season!
Shout out to the best husband ever for doing most of the heavy lifting here.
This weekend we will be sprucing up the paper in the windows and hanging our “Coming Summer 2017” sign!
In other exciting news, we have re-launched our website! HUGE thanks for Jared Goldstein for designing the new site. Check it out here: https://www.vanillamore.com
Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days and weeks!
I’m so excited to bring Vanillamore to you and can’t wait to open our doors to the public this summer.
xo, Risa
I love to end my posts with a quote about food or business.
This time, I stumbled on this one and couldn’t agree more 🙂
